Roofing Invoice Generator
Roofing bills by the square (100 sq ft), often against an insurance claim, and under some of the strictest consumer-protection rules in the trades. Several states cap roofer deposits and mandate cancellation rights after storm claims. This invoice speaks that language: squares, supplements, deposits applied, and both warranties stated.

What Trades Earn: Median Hourly Wages (BLS, May 2025)
National median wages for workers in each trade, not billed rates. A business bills 2x to 3x the wage to cover taxes, insurance, overhead, tools, and non-billable time; use these as the labor-cost floor under a quote, not the price.

What to Know About Roofing Invoices
- Per-square pricing is the trade's unit; an invoice line like 'architectural shingle, 24 squares @ $475 installed' is auditable where a lump sum isn't.
- Insurance jobs settle on the adjuster's scope; discovered work bills as supplements the carrier approves. The invoice separating original scope from approved supplements mirrors how the claim actually pays.
- Storm-chaser statutes in several states cap deposits, bar rebating deductibles, and grant cancellation windows if the claim is denied. The deductible line on this invoice exists because paying it is the policyholder's legal obligation.
- Two warranties attach to every roof: the manufacturer's on materials (often decades, registration required) and the roofer's on workmanship (commonly 2 to 10 years). Stated separately or disputed together.
- Tear-off, disposal, and decking replacement ('wood') bill as their own lines because they're the variables. Decking is usually priced per sheet as discovered.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do insurance roof jobs get billed?
Against the adjuster's scope: the carrier pays actual cash value up front, the depreciation on completion, and the homeowner owes the deductible. The invoice mirroring the scope (plus approved supplements as their own lines) is what releases the depreciation check.
Is waiving the deductible legal?
In a growing list of states, explicitly not. Deductible rebates are the core of storm-chaser statutes, and carriers treat waived deductibles as fraud indicators. The deductible appears on this invoice because it's genuinely owed.
What's a supplement?
Scope discovered after tear-off (rotten decking is the classic) submitted to the carrier for approval before billing. Keeping supplements as labeled lines with their approval reference is what keeps the final invoice reconcilable to the claim file.
